Before we completely let go of the summer and embrace the new school year, I thought we could take a moment and reflect on the events. Luckily, I have a few pictures that will help you do so! If you don't know what the pictures mean, it's probably some sort of inside joke. :D

I breathed in the early air, an experience I had been unable to feel in the past two months. Of course, considering my later sleeping habits, it was a wonder I could get out of bed. Where was I off to? The first day of school, of course!

I met many old faces (as in familiar, not necessarily elderly for the most part) and noted a couple new ones. I admit that my social skills are a bit lacking, especially when it comes to new kids. I was unable to really properly introduce myself and get to know these individuals, but I am hoping that day will come in its time. So far, I have heard of a Aeneas, Martin, and Nicole and earnestly wish they are finding their time at ICS most enjoyable. It is the duty of us veteran students to make that possible!

All of my teachers were people I was not taught by before. Some have returned to some more familiar faces, but it depended on each student. You see, everyone's schedules varied so greatly, I do believe there are not two schedules alike! I have a great many classes with some people, while hardly with others. In fact, there are a few people I was unable to see for the entire day (except lunch, of course). Still, it is a wonderful fact that we have this opportunity to encounter change and face it with an eager attitude and one that is hopefully willing to learn.

Well my friends, this is where I end the paragraph of the year. There are many more chapters to come in this tale of tenth grade, but for now, let us just try to survive the next couple of days, shall we?

The end of today marks the beginning chapters of a brand new year, where another story of educational adventures as well as woes of homework will start to unfold. Yes, it is that time again, a time when soon-to-be students face the overwhelming truth: school is starting once more.

As we thrust off the relaxing mood of summer and bear once more the burden of education, we enter into a school year of many, many things. I believe that this will truly be a year of new beginnings. New teachers, students, classrooms, courses, and activities are evidence to my statement. However, it is not the enormity of the situation that makes us who we are, but rather how we choose to handle the events around us, for truly we always have a choice.

Once again, we walk into a new year, ready to stand and determined to finish the fight.

The days are spinning by, faster with each passing moment. Some of us wish that the summer would never end, and that school would be nothing more than an unpleasant memory. Others long for the ever-awe inspiring land of learning or the ability merely to accomplish something instead of having to experience the never-ending boredom of summer's spell. Yet, both groups constantly count down the days till school imminently starts.

Open house is on August 11 in case you desire to attend and greet long-lost friends or meet new ones.

I find that there are several ways we will hope to cope with the growing anxiety before school. There are those who use every spare minute in order to fit in some activity or another in order to fully appreciate the last moments of summer. Others do quite the opposite, that is, they relax and lounge in a lazy manner. Still, there are few who do neither and see the next few days without much care. I do not know what manner of events they partake, but it probably isn't what I shall be doing.

What shall I be doing, you ask? Actually, I'm not too sure how to answer. Part of me wishes to contact everyone in Singapore and have some more social outings/parties to finish the summer with (as some say) a BANG. However, another part wants to rest and rejuvenate myself in order to prepare myself physically and mentally for school. It's a constant battle, but perhaps some good will come out of it.

Several friends have already returned from their summer adventures. Shannon and Rica are back and Sofia should be arriving shortly. I don't know about anyone else since they haven't contacted me, but I hope to meet them again soon. If you wish to let us know, feel free to inform us your date of return.

One last project I shall finish this summer is put together the video featuring the various events this summer. There is so much, however, that I'm afraid I will have to cut out a great deal. I have already succeeded in accomplishing some of this daunting task, but I will continue to endeavor in my struggles.

Till school, then!

These updates have not been quite as consistent as I would have liked them to be. This can be explained through a few reasons. First off, there isn't much to do around here nowadays. The movies have either all been watched or not interesting, and though it is a great deal of fun, the malls are losing the glamour they once held before school was out. Also, I admit that my forgetfulness has played a part. Oh, and speaking of which, if you wish also to be a possible editor, journalist, or any such part of this "organization" so to speak, then feel free to ask. I only ask that you be willing to make this blog a more enjoyable environment for oneself as well as others and to keep information factual, truthful, and non-objective (unless absolutely necessary of course, in which case you should consult with either Abi or me).

Well, on Thursday, Beth, Marcus, Maureen, and I met at Vivo for a little hanging out or get-together. In an attempt to give this meeting some form of purpose one way or another, I proposed that we make a little tour movie of Vivo in which we explored the various possiblities of this mall. In theory, we were to visit the more important aspects of this mall. In reality, however, we merely filmed whatever shop we visited, whether it be Bebe (haha) or Golden Village.

Abi, I'm sorry to say, was unable to come due to her unfortunate condition. Being dreadfully ill, she had no choice but to rest and hopefully recover from her position as soon as possible. Rica had also just left a few days ago back to.... Phuket, I believe. I do not have actual evidence as to where Ben is, although according to a few informative sources, he and his family are apparently in Malaysia.

I plan on posting the movie as soon as possible. The only thing that is preventing me from achieving such a goal is figuring out how to spell achieving (is that right?) and lack of motivation. Sadly, the holidays have drained any motivation or amibition I was hoping to develop for the while we were out of school. Although I enjoy these days of relaxation as much as the next guy, I feel incomplete without something spurring me to action. Luckily, my mom is a great motivater as to making my time worthwhile and otherwise useful. The down-side to this partnership is what exactly she makes me do. Cleaning the room is not an ideal afternoon for me. Perhaps I should get together some people and go somewhere again rather than deal with the torment of sorting out clothes...

If rapping with drum sets, a heated feud resulting from a cooking show, never-ending Uno, bicycles of ill-proportion, and an evil slide refusing one's bottom any comfort seems uninteresting or otherwise boring to you, you are sadly mistaken.

If you scoff at my statement, you stand against the entire staying-in-Singapore's summer society. Not only is that alliteration of s's important, but it also sounds very cool.

Actually, before that, I should rewind a bit and tell you of the basketball incident. The word "incident" probably gives you an ominous feeling of forwarning to some hideous event, but rest assured, it implies nothing of this manner whatsoever. I merely wished to inform the reader, namely you, that there was a small basketball-camp-sort-of-thing before the important crucial visit to Abi's place. There were many participating this fun (thought rather early) event, and if I took the the time to list each one, I would be found sleeping on the keyboard due to my exhaustion of the day's experiences. Let's continue, shall we?

Afterwards, Ben joined Beth, Marcus, and I and proceeded to the hawker area where I bought myself the infamous Bubble Tea. In order to appease our empty stomachs of their, well, emptiness, we set foot into the Clementi MacDonald in which we were satisfied with burgers, fries, and Marcus's "large" coke. The long journey to Pasir Ris was well entertained by Brian Regis (I believe that is how you spell it) for Beth, Marcus, and I. Unfortunately, Ben seemed rather impervious to it all and occupied himself with QuadraPop instead.

Abi met us at the MRT. As she led us to her house, I continued to marvel at the sheer distance from the school to her house. There (the house) we were greeted warmly by Abi's mother. Curious of Abi's drum set, everyone went upstairs to her room where many experimental beats as well as an attempt to get Marcus rapping began. After a couple minutes of some rather pointless discussions and reminscing in memories, we trudged back downstairs in order to bake some cookies. Here, Abi, Marcus, and Beth mixed the batter while Ben and I filmed and commented on the process. While we waited for the cookies to bake, Abi brought out what seemed to be three packs of Uno cards mashed together into one deck. Believe me when I say that the game would never result with a winner. In the end, everyone basically gave up their hopes and dreams of coming out on top. I admit that yellow became my worst enemy.

Bike riding was next on the agenda so we all got our bikes, scooter, and legs and rode out to East Coast. When we set our eyes on the playground, everyone knew what to do next. Carefully placing our vehicles in a secure position, we proceeded to the various slides, swings, jungle gyms, and other playground equipment we saw. Unfortunately, the efforts cost a lot of energy and everyone became exhausted. At Abi's home, several minutes were spent in relaxing conversations. Nobody was too keen on getting up at that point.

Dinner, supper, or whatever you would call it was eaten at the "Dirty Hawker" which was claimed to taste better than the "Clean Hawker." Personally, I saw no difference, but I tagged along seeing as of how I didn't know the place very well. Ben also almost "accidentally" took Bloopy along for the ride (ask Abi for more detail).

We all went our separate ways at our designated areas. There is hope for more possible future outings perhaps during the rest of summer.

Other than Abi's super exciting (as well as attractive) post from below, not much has really happened these past several days. That could be accounted with several well-thought explanations. Seeing as of how there is nothing else for me to discuss, let me expand upon the issue.

First, there is no motivation. Not for the posting necessarily, but for a social event. The movies do not hold our interest much anymore, and other than Abi, no one has been really that spontaneous such as several people we know *hint hint*. My schedule has also been rather tied down at the moment, what with all the lessons and appointments. I can only find solace with a computer and its spider application.

Actually, that original passage pretty much covers all that really prevents any excitement. I have, however, been playing around the footages of the past few outings. Hopefully, that'll turn out as a good movie. These clips take up so much space it's not even funny.

If you are the few who are still stuck in Singapore for awhile, your suggestions would be worthwhile. Better yet, even if you are not present, you may give your opinions to this matter as well. By the way, I used blue font to create a more vivid atmosphere. What do you think?
